The food was amazing the staff were kind and helpful
Called in today on our way to DIY kitchens. What a great bonus the carvery was great and very good value. Staff were polite and helpful. Can recommend especially for a traditional Sunday dinner.
We have had the absolute pleasure of being professionally served at The Barnsley Oak tonight. When we rarely visit the pub, when we do, we usually get an okay welcome and the service is fine. Thanks to Corey, the welcome and service tonight was excellent, even when the beer wasn't. He kindly sorted the issue out without any fuss. He is experienced in the trade and it shows 100%
We are regulars here. Went today, because I can't eat a lot they allow me to have small portions. Dinner today was absolutely beautiful. Love the staff always friendly. It is our favourite place to eat Love Kaz and Ian
Stopped here randomly as we were going south across country. Tuesday night they had a pie special - two for £15. My daughter (who loves her food) was panicking that we'd only get one portion of chips between us (she lives in York so not used to 'real world' prices). What arrived was two delicious pies, with heaps of veg, chips and mushy peas. Wife had one of the burger specials which was a little bit more expensive but equally as delicious. Lovely food and great value - whole bill with drinks, £40. Honest Yorkshire pub with very friendly staff and extensive menu. Highly recommended.
Amazing pub, has a really nice feel to it. The burgers are definitely a must! George and Alex V were very informative on the drinks! Will definitely be coming back.
The fact dogs are permitted inside the Oak is a massive bonus to me but also the food is good honest grub .Fresh veg ,real chips and and mash .Generous servings, and hot . Lovely Sunday lunch and they offer small medium and large . Again the servings at the carvery were very generous with achoce of 3 roasts . I will be back .
